We’re very excited to be welcoming Philippa as a guest practitioner at Healthy Oxford for the Summer months! She will be offering her expertise in Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage (ATMAT).
Philippa first trained in massage in 2005 and ATMAT in 2008. In 2009 she went on to attend an advanced course in ATMAT for fertility, pregnancy, birth and postpartum as well as a course focusing on digestive health which blends ATMAT with Chi Nei Tsang (abdominal massage from China). Philippa uses a blend of knowledge and intuitive touch in her practice and works in a deeply holistic way with her clients exploring all areas of their wellbeing.
What is ATMAT?
ATMAT is a non-invasive, external massage technique. It guides internal abdominal & pelvic organs into their proper position for optimum health & well-being. ATMAT improves organ function by releasing physical & emotional congestion & tension from the abdomen & restoring the flow of blood, lymph, nerve impulse and chi. This massage is effective for both men & women.
The technique applies anatomy, physiology & naprapathy (study of ligaments, joints & muscles), with Ancient Maya healing techniques to address common female and male complaints. During the treatment instruction is given in self care massage and techniques for use at home.
ATMAT can help our health in many ways including painful, irregular/absent periods, endometriosis, cysts, fibroids, optimising fertility and pregnancy and digestive issues to name a few.
